How does the Application Process work?
PowerFuels enjoys a great reputation in Western North Dakota as a desired employer of choice. As a result, hundreds of applications are received each month. Driver Applications are reviewed with our insurance carrier and background checked for eligibility. Once a Driver Application is approved with our insurance provider and the background check completed, we then review applications for further consideration.
For all Non-Driving Applicants, we review applications with relevant department managers and select candidates for interview based on our current needs.
How does the Schedule work for Drivers?
Drivers work 12 hour shifts with rotating day and nights. Drivers are paid extra for working nights and weekends.
Our schedules consist of:
5 - 1 is 5 days on, 1 day off for 3 to 4 weeks, then 7 days off. On this schedule, the primary objective is to ensure at least 21 days are worked in a month. You are not required to take 7 days off; however, days off will not accumulate
5 - 2/5 - 3 is 5 days on, 2 days off OR 5 days on, 3 days off. This schedule rotates between 2 and 3 days off.
All shifts are 70 hours a week. We dual-use our equipment; therefore, shifts typically start at 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.
If hired, what can I expect to earn?
Our Drivers make a percentage of what our trucks gross. We bill our customers an hourly rate and our Drivers receive a percentage of that hourly rate. Our Drivers start out at a competitive percentage which increases after 60 days and then again after 1 year. The percentage goes up from there as well.
After 6 months of employment, Drivers become eligible for a Safety, Service, Performance, Attitude and Attendance Bonus. This too is a percentage of what the truck grosses, but can go as high as $16,000 per year. If an employee prefers to work strictly nights, the annual return for night pay can be as much as $17,000. On an annual basis, our new Drivers can expect to make conservatively between $70-90 thousand per year. Payday is bi-weekly. All other positions pay at a competitive oilfield wage.
For our new Drivers, we offer a $750 Sign-on Bonus that is paid in two installments - at 60 days and 90 days.
